Midlands Tech making adjustments during coronavirus pandemic
Like many other institutions, Midlands Technical College has been forced to make changes during the coronavirus pandemic.
On Wednesday, Midlands Tech announced two more significant adjustments its making that will affect students currently enrolled — and those looking to attend the college.
Classes will continue to be conducted online through the summer semester at Midlands Tech, college officials said in a news release.
“Most on-ground courses will transition to being delivered virtually,” it said in the release.
For students looking to enroll at Midlands Tech for the summer, or fall semesters, the college said standardized test scores (SAT, ACT) are no longer required as part of the admission process.
College officials said the change was made to create an “accessible and convenient way” to becoming a Midlands Tech student.
Additionally, Midlands Tech is waiving its application fee, according to the release.
“Using a student’s high school GPA, previous college work (such as dual enrollment or AP courses), previous ACT/SAT score, or an Accuplacer test, there are many ways prospective students ‘can get anywhere from here,’ ” college officials said in the release, using Midlands Tech’s slogan.
