The University of South Carolina is projecting a record high number of freshman applications for next school year.

Compared to last year at this time, USC is seeing 13% more freshman applications, USC Interim President Harris Pastides said in a recent video message.

Like many colleges throughout the country, USC braced for a decrease in student enrollment after the coronavirus pandemic struck in 2020. However, that didn’t happen, and USC’s enrollment remained stable, The State reported previously.

The news comes after Pastides announced USC plans to freeze tuition for another year. If the plan comes to fruition, annual tuition will remain at $12,688 for in-state students and $33,928 for out-of-state students, according to USC’s website.
