A member of President Biden’s cabinet will be speaking at a SC HBCU for graduation

Claflin University will be hosting a member of President Joe Biden’s cabinet to speak for fall commencement, the university announced Friday.

Marcia Fudge, secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development will speak during Claflin’s Fall Commencement Convocation on December 10, at 10 a.m. at the Jonas T. Kennedy Health and Wellness Complex, Claflin said in a news release.

While only Claflin graduates and their guests will be able to attend the commencement for the state’s highest-ranked Historically Black College or University (HBCU), the ceremony will be livestreamed on Claflin’s Facebook page, according to the news release.
