Several students at Pelion Middle School have been suspended and could face expulsion after school officials say they found a “threatening note” listing other students and school staff.

School principal Jessica Keisler addressed the situation in an email to parents on Wednesday. Her email did not detail what was said in the note, but she said that the note did not make a specific threat against the listed individuals, discuss weapons or dates and times for any actions.

Five students at Pelion Middle face disciplinary action over the note, Keisler said.

“The students involved said they had no plans to harm anyone,” Keisler said in the email. “However, we take all threats seriously,” adding that law enforcement would be involved in investigating the list.

She encouraged parents to talk to their children about “the seriousness of making threats against the school or classmates.”

“The discipline is swift and may be severe,” she said.
