Which Lexington County schools scored the best, worst in SC report cards? Here’s how they all rank

New report cards from the South Carolina Department of Education reveal how well state schools are doing for the first time since 2019.

In Lexington County, 30 schools improved, while 36 schools declined in performance, according to the report.

The Department of Education and the South Carolina Education Oversight Committee give each school an overall rating out of 100, which is determined by academic achievement, student progress and school climate, among other factors.

To be considered “excellent,” high schools must receive a score of 67 or above, middle schools must receive a score of 56 or above, and elementary schools must receive a score of 61 or above.

To be considered “good,” high schools must receive a score between 60-66, middle schools must receive a score between 48-55, and elementary schools must receive a score between 53-60.

To be considered “average,” high schools must receive a score between 51-59, middle schools must receive a score between 36-47, and elementary schools must receive a score between 42-52.

To be considered “below average,” high schools must receive a score between 40-50, middle schools must receive a score between 29-35, and elementary schools must receive a score between 34-41.

To be considered “unsatisfactory,” high schools must receive a score between 0-39, middle schools must receive a score between 0-28, and elementary schools must receive a score between 0-33.
