Richland 1 and 2 schools to return to normal hours next week

Richland 1 and Richland 2 schools will operate on a normal schedule next week, the districts announced Wednesday.

The districts’ schools were on a one-hour delay this week, down from a two-hour delay last week.

Buses will pick up students at the regularly scheduled pick-up times.

The delays were meant to allow bus drivers, parents and students to drive new routes to school during daylight hours, Richland 2 spokeswoman Libby Roof has said.

Hundreds of bus routes in Richland County had to be redrawn around road and bridge closures because of the flooding earlier this month.
