Richland 1 to induct 6 into Hall of Fame
Six new members will be inducted into the Richland 1 Hall of Fame in February.
The Hall of Fame, established in 2004, recognizes alumni and others for their contributions to Richland 1, their communities and professions. This year’s honorees:
Dr. Raymond Bynoe, a 1971 graduate of A.C. Flora High who is a trauma surgeon and an associate professor with the University of South Carolina School of Medicine’s Department of Surgery.
Jean Margaret Smith Card, a 1982 graduate of Dreher High who is the senior vice president for public affairs and administration for the Kids & Family Group.
Yvonne Donald, a 1975 graduate of C.A. Johnson High who serves as deputy director of the James R. Clark Memorial Sickle Cell Foundation in Columbia.
Charles “Charlie” William Fetner, a 1947 graduate of Columbia High who served as a Forest Acres councilman from 1977 until his death in 2013.
Gerald Floyd, taught English, speech and drama at A.C. Flora High and English at Dreher High retiring in 2003 after 43 years in the district.
Harold White, a 1958 graduate of C.A. Johnson High whose 44-year career in teaching and coaching included 36 years at the University of South Carolina, where he was the university’s first African-American coach.
A ceremony is set for Feb. 13 in Columbia.
