Richland County Sheriff Lott promoted to brigadier general
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott has been promoted from the rank of colonel to brigadier general in the S.C. State Guard.
State adjutant general Robert Livingston promoted Lott at a ceremony Saturday morning.
Lott previously served as colonel and was the provost marshal for the State Guard. He was commissioned a Major assigned to the Joint Services Detachment in 2004, promoted to lieutenant colonel in 2006 and transferred to the S.C. State Guard in 2008 as a colonel of the provost marshal.
