DA PLANES! DA PLANES!

Dust off your binoculars and dig up your ear plugs because the Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort Air Show is back for the first time since 2011. The all-star aviation lineup features some of the world's finest military and civilian pilots, including the U.S. Navy's flight demonstration squadron Blue Angels. The F-35B Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter, the newest addition to the Marine fighting force, and the GEICO Skytypers also are key parts of the show.

St. Helena Island native and "America Idol" winner Candice Glover will perform the National Anthem at both shows, starting at 10:45 a.m. The biennial event attracts about 100,000 visitors and was canceled in 2013 due to congressional budget cuts.

MONDAY, April 6

Venus Williams is coming to our tennis world today to promote EleVen, her tennis and activewear clothing line. The seven-time Grand Slam singles titles champion will be at Player's World of Sports from 4:30 to 6 p.m.at Shelter Cove Towne Centre on Hilton Head Island. Anyone who purchases EleVen clothes from the store prior to 3:30 p.m. today will have the chance to get a picture taken with Williams. TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY April 7-8

The Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn will be the place to be when the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra performs its annual evening of Symphony Under the Stars concert. This year's show is "James Bond and Beyond," and will feature original orchestrations from 15 Bond movies as well as "Spi-fi" classics from TV and movies. John Morris Russell will conduct with performances by Broadway vocalists Ron Bohmer and Chapatti Jenkins.

Tickets range in cost, including new additional lawn seating for $25. Picnics begin at 6 p.m. and music at 7:30 p.m.

Climb the 114 wrap-around stairs to the top of the Harbour Town Lighthouse and experience the great views of Calibogue Sound, the yachts in the harbor and the magnificent signature finishing hole at Harbour Town Golf Links. There's also the shop at the top and the new

Maritime Gift Gallery on the ground floor. The cost is $4 for adults and free for children 5 and under. The lighthouse is open daily from 10 a.m. and closes at sundown because you don't want to miss out on that gorgeous photo op!
