Free dental clinics June 27 for Midlands veterans

COLUMBIA, SC Three practices affiliated with Aspen Dental in Columbia, Lexington and Sumter are offering a day of free dental service for all veterans on June 27.

The appointments are being scheduled on a first-come-first-serve basis. Vets must call ahead of time to set up an appointment. The number to call is 1-844-277-3646.

A number of services will be provided including filings, extractions and dental repairs. The top priority will be to eliminate pain. Once an immediate need is met, volunteers will help vets identify and connect with free or low cost dental services available in the Midlands.

This is the second year of the Healthy Mouth Movement program by Aspen Dental. Last year, the services were available to anyone in need. Nearly 3,000 patients were provided services nationwide, Aspen Dental said.

This year the focus is on veterans. No proof of need will be required and no payment for services will be accepted.
