Patriots Point museum to offer free admission to veterans this weekend, Veterans Day

Patriots Point officials said they will be offering free admission to veterans this weekend and on Veterans Day to honor their service to the United States.

Earlier this year, Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum was designated as an official regional site for the observance of Veterans Day by the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Veterans Day National Committee, officials said. Offering free admission on the designated days is part of the museum’s commitment to honor veterans.

In addition to the normal tours and exhibits at the museum, the museum will display a recently refurbished M35A2, a 2 ½ ton cargo truck frequently used by our nation’s military and often known as a “deuce and a half.” General Dynamics Land Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics Combat Systems group located locally in Ladson, SC is loaning a Buffalo mine clearance vehicle to be on display on Veterans Day as well.

Admission will only be free to veterans, officials said, but normal parking fees will be applied.
