Seven-figure winning Powerball ticket sold in South Carolina. Check your numbers

Although nobody won the $550 million jackpot in Saturday’s Powerball drawing, two people who bought tickets in South Carolina won significant prizes — including a $1 million windfall.

The $1 million winning Powerball ticket was sold in Myrtle Beach, while a $50,000 winning ticket was purchased in Columbia, the South Carolina Education Lottery said Monday in a news release.

The $1 million winning Powerball game was bought at the Kroger supermarket at 3735 Renee Drive, according to the release.

The ticket matched all five white balls, but not the red Powerball number, lottery officials said. The winning numbers from the drawing were 19, 25, 48, 55, 60 and Powerball: 18.

The odds of winning $1 million playing Powerball are 11,688,054-to-1, according to the release.

The five-digit winning ticket was purchased in Columbia at the Quick Stop at 1330 Broad River Road, officials said. That’s near the intersection with Bush River Road.

That ticket matched four of the five white balls, along with the red Powerball number in the Double Play drawing, according to the release. Those winning numbers were 9, 21, 30, 49, 51 and Powerball: 3.

Because the ticket buyer purchased the Double Play option, the $50,000 prize was won in the second drawing held after the regular Powerball drawing, lottery officials said.

The odds of winning $50,000 playing Powerball are 913,129-to-1, according to the release.

The winners have 180 days to claim the prizes, according to lottery officials.

The winners will be allowed to retain some privacy, as South Carolina is one of eight states — along with Delaware, Kansas, Georgia, Maryland, North Dakota, Ohio and Texas — that allow lottery winners to remain anonymous.

“Sign the back of your ticket and put it in a safe location until you’re ready to come forward to claim the prize,” lottery officials said.

In addition to these paydays, more than 27,000 players in South Carolina hold prize-winning tickets from Saturday’s drawing, according to the release.

The next Powerball drawing will be held Monday, when the jackpot is estimated to be $625 million, making it the 8th largest prize in the history of the game, officials said.

If won on Monday, the jackpot winner can elect to take a one-time cash payment of $299.8 million or the entire jackpot paid out in 30 installments over 29 years, according to the release.

Odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are about 1-in-293 million, officials said.
