Winning Powerball tickets were sold in South Carolina. Check your numbers

There was no grand prize winner in Monday’s Powerball drawing, but two tickets that captured five-figure jackpots were sold in South Carolina, state Education Lottery officials said Tuesday in a news release.

A pair of $50,000 prizes awaits each of the owners of the winning Powerball tickets, according to the release.

Lottery officials have not reported that the ticket holders have come forward to claim their prizes.

Each of the prize-winning tickets were one number away from matching all of those selected in Monday night’s Powerball drawings, according to the release.

A ticket sold at a convenience store in Orangeburg matched four of the five white balls, along with the red Powerball number, officials said. The ticket was purchased at the Q Mart at 1395 St. Matthews Road.

The winning numbers from the drawing were 6, 28, 39, 43, 54 and Powerball: 12.

Also on Monday, in the Double Play drawing, a ticket sold at a gas station in Darlington matched four of the five white balls, along with the red Powerball number, according to the release. That ticket was bought at the Darlington Gas N Go at 1490 Harry Byrd Highway.

The winning numbers from the Double Play drawing were 14, 20, 23, 31, 54 and Powerball: 19.

The winners have 180 days to claim their prizes, according to lottery officials.

The winners will be allowed to retain some privacy, as South Carolina is one of 11 states — along with Arizona, Delaware, Georgia, Kansas, Maryland, New Jersey, North Dakota, Ohio, Texas and Virginia — that allow lottery winners to remain anonymous.

“Sign the back of your ticket and put it in a safe location until you’re ready to come forward to claim the prize,” lottery officials said.

The odds of matching four white ball numbers and the red Powerball number are 913,129-to-1, according to the release.

The convenience stores in Orangeburg and Darlington each will receive a commission of $500 when the tickets are turned in to lottery officials.

Because there was no jackpot winner in Monday’s drawing, the top prize in Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing has risen to $462 million.

The chances of winning the top prize in a Powerball drawing are 292,201,338-to-1, officials said.
