A South Carolina woman is going house hunting after cashing in on winning lottery ticket.

The woman bought a 100X scratch-off game for $10 at Spann’s Market on Wedgefield Rd. in Sumter.

According to lottery officials, she scanned the ticket in the store. When a message read “Claim at Lottery,” she scratched off the rest of her ticket to reveal her six-figure prize. She told officials “it was too much.”

The jackpot was $500,000.

The odds of winning such a prize were 1 in 1,224,000. Three top prizes remain in the game, lottery officials said.

“It was overwhelming,” she told South Carolina Education Lottery officials. “I never thought something like that would happen to me.”

The woman is allowed to retain privacy. South Carolina is one of 11 states that allow lottery winners to remain anonymous.

The Spann’s Market received a commission of $5,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
