Check your tickets. 6-figure winning lottery ticket sold at SC grocery store
Someone recently won a six-figure jackpot after buying a Palmetto Cash 5 ticket in the Midlands, officials with the South Carolina Education Lottery said Tuesday.
The person will receive a $292,000 prize after Sunday’s drawing, according to the release. Now a search is underway for the winner.
The game was sold at a Publix grocery story at 10128 Two Notch Road in Columbia, according to a news release, and the ticket matched all five winning numbers: 10, 13, 17, 24 and 27.
It is South Carolina’s 22nd jackpot win, officials said. The odds of winning the Palmetto Cash 5 jackpot are 1 in 850,668.
The winner has 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prize. For more information on claiming prizes, go to sceducationlottery.com.
Whoever it is can remain anonymous, as South Carolina is one of 11 states that allows lottery winners to do so.
Net proceeds from every dollar spent on the South Carolina Education Lottery are returned to the state to fund education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services, according to a news release.
