A winning Powerball game was sold at a Circle K store in SC. Check your tickets
Nobody won Powerball’s 10-figure grand prize in Monday night’s drawing, but someone who bought a ticket at a Circle K in South Carolina will receive a significant consolation prize, South Carolina Education Lottery officials said in a news release.
The ticket buyer’s Powerball game matched four of five white ball numbers, as well as the Powerball number, in the Double Play drawing and has won a $50,000 jackpot, officials said in Tuesday’s release.
Now the search is underway for the winner.
The five-figure winning Powerball game was sold at the Circle K gas station/convenience store on East Pine Log Road, according to the release.
For an additional dollar, players can add Double Play to their Powerball ticket for another chance to match their Powerball numbers in a separate drawing, with a $10 million grand prize at stake, according to the release. Double Play drawings are held after the Powerball drawings on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, officials said.
The winning numbers in Monday’s Double Play drawing were 1, 15, 26, 48, 67 and Powerball: 19.
The odds of matching four white numbers and the red Powerball number are 1-in-913,129, officials said.
The winner has 180 days to claim the prize, according to lottery officials.
The winner will be allowed to retain some privacy, as South Carolina is one of 11 states — along with Arizona, Delaware, Georgia, Kansas, Maryland, New Jersey, North Dakota, Ohio, Texas and Virginia — that allow lottery winners to remain anonymous.
“Sign the back of your ticket and put it in a safe location until you’re ready to come forward to claim the prize,” lottery officials said.

When the ticket is claimed, the Circle K in Aiken is expected to receive a commission for selling the winning game.
Because there was no grand prize winner Monday night, the jackpot for Wednesday’s Powerball drawing has grown to $1.3 billion, its biggest payout of the year, and the fifth largest prize in the history of the game.
Anyone looking to buy a ticket must make a purchase by 9:59 p.m. Wednesday for the 10:59 p.m. drawing. Tickets are $2, and could cost more with additional options.
The odds of winning Powerball’s grand prize are 1-in-293 million.
