This lost cat was found 6 months later, 2k miles from home. Here’s how.

Nearly six months after the Cameron family’s cat, Kitty Bitty, went missing from their Pooler home, he has been found more than 2,400 miles across the country.

Kitty Bitty went missing on July 4 and apparently hopped onto a Pepsi truck before making a trip out West, according to a press release from Riverside County Department of Animal Services in California.

Last week, the 5-year-old tabby cat was discovered on the Pepsi truck in Riverside County, Calif., right outside of Los Angeles. The truck driver contacted animal services and a nearby animal shelter found his owners using the cat’s rabies tag, according to the department of animal services.

The cat was dehydrated and hungry but quickly recovered with veterinary care.

Animal Services is flying Kitty Bitty to Atlanta on Monday, so that he can reunite with the Camerons before Christmas.

“I can't thank you enough for helping us get Kitty Bitty back to Savannah,” Teresa Cameron, the cat's owner, said in the press release. “My daughter has been telling me everyday since he's been gone how much she misses him and wishes he would come back. She is over the moon that he has been found.”
