A second food delivery driver attacked in Dallas. This one killed suspect, cops say

A pizza delivery driver in Texas shot two teen boys who tried to rob him Tuesday night, police say. One died.

The Papa John’s Pizza delivery driver was making a delivery in Dallas when two 15-year-old boys tried to rob him at gunpoint, police said in a news release.

That’s when the delivery driver pulled out a gun and shot both boys, police say.

Both were taken to a local hospital where one teen died, police say. The other suffered non-life threatening injuries and was arrested for aggravated robbery.

After talking with witnesses, the delivery driver — who has a license to carry permit — was ultimately released, police say.

He was delivering to Village Apartments, according to KDFW.

This incident comes only two days after a DoorDash delivery driver in Dallas was shot multiple times following an altercation with a customer, WFAA reported.

The driver told police that Travis Jahns, 33, accused him of stealing food from his order, KXAS reported. The argument escalated into a fight and police say the driver punched Jahns who ultimately grabbed a gun from his waistband and shot the driver multiple times, according to the outlet.

The 22-year-old driver was taken to the hospital and is expected to be fine, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Jahns was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, the newspaper reported. He was released on $35,000 bail.
