Dad bites police dog in RV after stabbing his 20-year-old son, Arizona cops say

A police dog deployed to help subdue a 49-year-old Arizona man accused of stabbing his son Sunday got in a few bites in the scuffle — and so did the man, KNXV reports.

Alfred Donzell Williams, 49, of Avondale faces charges including aggravated assault and animal cruelty, the Daily Independent reported.

Police had responded to a 911 call that a man had been stabbed and “his guts are out,” AZ Family reported. A 20-year-old man told officers his father had stabbed him in a fight.

Officers found Williams hiding inside a recreational vehicle and spent several hours trying to communicate with him, KNXV reported. They also fired gas into the RV to try to dislodge him.

A robot used to try to communicate with Williams also failed because of clutter inside the RV, the Daily Independent reported.

Finally, officers stormed the RV with police K9 Toby, who found Williams hiding in a bathroom, AZ Family reported. Toby bit Williams in the right arm, left leg and chest.

Williams struck Toby with his fists and bit the dog on the head, KNXV reported.

The Goodyear Police Department said the K9 was not seriously hurt, the Daily Independent reported. Williams told police he’d stabbed his son in self-defense when a struggle broke out after his son tried to return a bicycle.
