Employee fired from job returns to his workplace with a homemade bomb, CA cops say

A “disgruntled” ex-employee who was recently fired from his workplace in Antioch returned to the business with a homemade bomb, Antioch police said.

On Monday, the Antioch Police Department responded to a report of an ex-employee, Timothy Harrington, 50, dropping off a suspected “explosive device,” according to The San Francisco Chronicle, citing police.

Employees were taken to a safe location, and police said they detained Harrington after he drove away from the scene, according to a press release.

Police said that he had been fired from the business and left the bomb before driving away, according to The San Francisco Chronicle.

The Walnut Creek Police Department Bomb Squad inspected and neutralized the device, and police got a search warrant for the suspect’s house in Pittsburg, according to the release. The man was arrested on a charges of possession of an explosive device, and police said they don’t believe other suspects were involved.
