Black bear walks onto course at PGA Tour event. Players cautiously watch from afar
Video captured a fuzzy golf fan creeping onto a course at the PGA Tour’s Barracuda Championship on Friday.
A black bear casually strolled onto the course while a few golfers watched from a safe distance at the Old Greenwood course at Tahoe Mountain Club in Truckee, California.
The bear must have decided it wanted nothing to do with humans who swing clubs for a living.
Black bears are common in the Tahoe area, the United States of Agriculture Forest Service says. Tahoe is near Truckee. The Town of Truckee website even tells guests to keep their distance from the wild animals.
The PGA Tour has seen its share of wildlife interrupting play over the years — from baby ducklings to frightening alligators. The PGA Tour even composed the “best” animal encounters from the past decade in a YouTube video.
