Marge Simpson — yes, the cartoon — snaps back at Trump adviser who ‘disrespected’ her

If you had “Marge Simpson responds to comment made by a Donald Trump adviser” on your 2020 bingo card, you’re doing well.

Comments made Friday by the animated TV character came after Jenna Ellis, the senior legal adviser for Trump’s campaign, mentioned her in a tweet.

“Kamala sounds like Marge Simpson,” Ellis tweeted on Wednesday as Kamala Harris made her first public appearance after being selected as Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s running mate.

The Fox TV show posted a clip Friday morning: “Marge Simpson has something to say.”

“I usually don’t get into politics, but the president’s senior adviser Jenna Ellis just said Kamala Harris sounds like me? Lisa said she doesn’t mean it as a compliment,” Marge Simpson said, referring to her daughter on the show, Lisa Simpson. “If that is so, as an ordinary suburban housewife, I am starting to feel a little disrespected. I teach my children not to name call, Jenna. I was going to say I am pissed off, but I am afraid they would bleep it.”

Marge’s “suburban housewife” comment was likely a reference to a tweet Trump posted earlier in the week. Trump said the “suburban housewife” will be voting for him.

The clip has sparked a back-and forth-between the cartoon mother and Ellis.

“Marge is probably going to vote Democrat ... by mail,” Ellis tweeted.

Marge Simpson has not endorsed a candidate in the presidential election.

Mail-in voting has been a hot topic recently as Trump has said, without evidence, it is ripe for fraud.
