Mischievous puppy jumps into pool — and his plan backfires, Washington video shows

A sneaky dog had his own plans for a blazing hot summer afternoon, video shows.

The 10-month-old pup made sure to look around before leaping into the backyard pool in Monroe, Washington on Aug. 19, video from Storyful shows. Unfortunately for him, he got himself stuck.

“His devious plan quickly backfired when he realized he couldn’t get back out,” Storyful reported. “Security footage shows the dog, a 10-month-old German Shepherd-Great Pyrenees cross, looking around the empty backyard before plunging into the pool.”

His owner came to his rescue, though, and hoisted the dog from the pool.

In Washington’s current heatwave, you can’t blame the dog for trying to cool off. Sunday was the hottest day in Seattle in 11 years, The Seattle Times reported. Cities across Washington were setting heat records, the newspaper reported.
