A Delta Air Lines flight experienced a flat tire and skidded on the runway during a rough landing at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport over the weekend, officials said.

Delta Flight 1277, arriving from Dallas-Fort Worth on Sunday, Feb. 6, blew a tire and “came to a rest on the taxi way,” a Delta spokesperson told McClatchy News in a statement. Officials with the Federal Aviation Administration said the plane came to a rest in a grassy area just before 3:40 p.m.

A passenger recalled what they described as a “crash landing,” WSB-TV reported.

“Two tires are flat,” they told the news station. “We landed sideways on the runway. We are still stuck on the plane. Docs are onboard assisting one person so far.”

Passengers were deplaned and bused to the terminal, the Delta spokesperson said. The plane was then moved to the gate after undergoing repairs.

It’s unclear how many people were on the plane, though no injuries have been reported.

The FAA, which is investigating the incident, said “each landing gear has multiple tires and pilots are trained how to safely respond to these situations.”
