Driver crashes into cow on Utah highway, officials say. He’s in critical condition
A man was driving on a Utah highway when he struck a cow, officials said.
The driver struck the animal around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27, on State Route 102 at mile 14, the Utah Department of Public Safety said in a news release.
A photo of the car shows the windshield smashed and the hood of the vehicle damaged.
Authorities said they had to extract the man from the car.
He was taken to a hospital in critical condition. He was then flown to a trauma center in Wasatch Front, officials said.
The cow died.
Utah Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash and how the cow got on the freeway.
