Update: The missing tuber’s body was recovered Saturday, May 14, park officials told KMGH. His body was found at the bottom of the reservoir by sonar.



A 29-year-old man remains missing after falling off a tube being towed by a boat at Cherry Creek Reservoir, Colorado officials reported.

The man, who was not wearing a life jacket, fell into the water at 6:45 p.m. Saturday, May 7, Colorado Parks and Wildlife said in a news release.

First responders searched for the man for over an hour, but it became a recovery mission after that, the release says.

The department’s Marine Evidence Recovery Team assisted in the search with underwater remote-operated vehicles with sonar, lights, video cameras and a manipulator. The team searched until 4 a.m. Sunday, the release said.

The reservoir remained closed to boaters Sunday, May 8, while crews continued searching for his body, the release said.
