Sinkhole swallows car on Arizona street as neighbors rush to rescue driver

A car traveling down a Phoenix street plunged into a sinkhole possibly caused by a water main break, according to Arizona news outlets.

Neighbors rushed to rescue the woman behind the wheel just after midnight Monday, June 27, Arizona’s Family reported. Some nearby homes also lost water service.

The woman was not injured, KSAZ reported.

The street remains closed as crews work to repair the pavement and water line below after the car was pulled from the hole, KNXV reported.
