A man eating breakfast at a McDonald’s in Maryland had to do a double take when he saw his car roll into the parking lot with a mechanic behind the wheel.

As he stared as his own car parked in the lot, he hit record on his phone and shared the moment with TikTok.

The man, who goes by Rique on TikTok, said he had dropped off his car for an inspection just 10 minutes earlier at a nearby mechanic and had walked to McDonald’s afterward.

Rique watched in stunned silence as the mechanic rested four drinks on the roof of his car, opened up the door, hopped in and cruised away.

“What do I do?” Rique asked.

His video got more than 11 million views and thousands of people had thoughts on the situation.

“That’s brave to take that many drinks in a car you don’t own,” one person said.

“I would tell them they owe me a free inspection for taking my personal vehicle to pick up breakfast,” another said.

Many commenters pointed out that since the mechanic probably had to test drive the vehicle anyway, they probably just made a quick stop for food along the way.

In an update video, Rique said that he wasn’t too upset — just shocked. He said he asked the company if it was normal for mechanics to take customer vehicles to grab breakfast, and one worker told him it sometimes happens if the mechanic is close to their break.

After he recovered from the surprise of it all, Rique didn’t seem that bothered. Some commenters thought he was being a little too nice.

“Such a huge liability for them to be casually using customer vehicles when they’re brought in for service,” one viewer pointed out.

“As a mechanic, that is such unacceptable behavior that this is my first time hearing about it,” another said. “You got walked all over, sorry bud.”

Rique did not say which mechanic shop he had this experience with.
