Reggie Peyton was on his way to work recently when he stopped to cash a winning lottery ticket.

After collecting his prize, he bought a Power 5s scratch-off ticket at a Pilot Travel Center in Colonial Heights, according to an April 20 news release from the Virginia Lottery.

Peyton got back in his car and scratched his ticket. That’s when he saw his prize, he told officials.

“When I saw that $250,000, I got weak in the knees,” Peyton said.

Peyton continued on his way to work, but once he got there he didn’t stay for long.

“My supervisor said to take the day off and go collect the money,” Peyton told officials.

Now, the North Chesterfield resident said he will use his prize to pay off some bills and maybe buy a new car.

Colonial Heights is about 20 miles south of Richmond.
