Bulldog vanished a year ago in Colorado. Sweet reunion turned her into ‘a jumping bean’
One moment Star the bulldog was playing in her Colorado yard.
The next, she was gone from her Thornton home, the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region said in a May 9 Facebook post.
“A year passed since Star had seen her family,” the shelter said.
Then, “at the end of April,” Star was found about 80 miles away from home in Colorado Springs, according to the shelter.
She was brought to the shelter which said it found her microchip and called her owners.
The shelter said the owners “wanted their shining Star back, so the couple drove down” to the shelter.
After the owners showed the shelter photos and videos of Star and “veterinary paperwork” from before she went missing, the shelter said it “had no doubt that this was Star’s family.”
When Star first saw “her long-lost parents,” she was a bit shy, the shelter said. However, “then it hit her.”
“She became a jumping bean and wouldn’t stop moving and grooving,” according to the shelter.
