‘Get me one of those.’ Wife has husband buy lottery ticket — and wins big in Missouri
A Missouri woman won a large prize after asking her husband to buy her a lottery ticket.
The woman played a $3 “Crossword Xtreme” Scratchers ticket that was bought in St. Louis, according to a Sept. 3 news release from the Missouri Lottery.
“My husband plays the lottery all the time,” she told lottery officials. “I said, ‘Hey! Get me one of those crossword tickets you’re always playing.”
Little did she know, that ticket held one of the game’s top prizes of $50,000.
“When I scratched it, I didn’t believe it. So I counted the words about 100 times,” she said. “Then I had him count it!”
So far, $13.6 million in prizes have been won from the game, according to the Missouri Lottery.
