A woman could’ve sworn “something was wrong” with her lottery ticket in Maryland.

Instead, lottery luck had actually visited the retail worker, surprising her with a $96,903 progressive jackpot, according to an Oct. 11 news release by the Maryland Lottery.

“It wouldn’t be the first time I thought I won something different from what I really won,” the Montgomery County woman told lottery officials.

She bought the $5 FAST PLAY Big Money Doubler ticket at a Silver Spring Safeway, officials said.

While still in the store, she checked the ticket but didn’t believe she’d actually won, the release said.

Her husband told officials the “shock” wouldn’t wear off until they got their hands on the check, according to the release.

The woman has no concrete plans for the money besides paying a few bills, officials said.

Silver Spring is about a 30-mile drive southwest of Baltimore.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
