Lucky Powerball player wins $1 million prize. Where was the ticket sold?
A Powerball player won $1 million off a ticket sold in Missouri — just one match shy of the $20 million jackpot, lottery officials said.
The ticket matched five winning numbers, but not the Powerball in the Saturday, Oct. 26 drawing, the Missouri Lottery said.
Three other tickets matched four numbers and the powerball to win $50,000.
No one in the U.S. won the jackpot prize of $20 million, which has a cash value of $9.5 million, according to the national Powerball website.
The winning numbers were 8, 12, 40, 45, and 51, and the Powerball was 15, the lottery said. The Power Play was 2.
More than 293,000 other Powerball tickets also won prizes ranging from $4 to $100,000, the lottery said.
The Powerball jackpot has been unclaimed since Wednesday, Oct. 23, when a Georgia player won a $478 million jackpot prize, lottery officials said.
