‘Magnificent’ elk herd spotted in Colorado mountain town, video shows. Hear their calls

A massive herd of elk was spotted congregating in snowy front yards in a Colorado mountain town, TikTok video shows.

Wildlife photographer Seth Powell, who goes by the username @coloradoadventuresco on TikTok, shared the video on Monday, Nov. 3. Powell appears to be driving by the herd and filming from the vehicle.

Elk of all ages and sizes trot by, and many appear to be grazing on vegetation that matches their coats.

“Wonder what they are eating,” someone said in the comments. “All I see is snow, no grass.”

The elks’ calls to each other are audible throughout the video.

“I love their sounds,” someone said.

Others were captivated by the sheer amount of elk, which appeared to be in the hundreds.

“Magnificent!” they said. “There are so many!”
