‘I did it!’ Man tells wife after winning over $1 million in Virginia lottery game
A lucky player won a life-changing jackpot prize from a Virginia game, and he rushed to tell his wife, lottery officials said.
“I did it!” Brian Morgan excitedly told her.
Morgan matched all five numbers in the Nov. 27 drawing to win a total of $1,610,754 from a Cash 5 with EZ Match game, the Virginia Lottery said in a Jan. 6 news release.
“I’ve looked at it about 50 times!” the happy winner told lottery officials when claiming his prize.
Morgan left his win up to fate by choosing Easy Pick, which allows a computer to randomly select his ticket numbers, the lottery said.
Morgan purchased his ticket at a grocery store in Manassas, about a 30-mile drive southwest from Alexandria, lottery officials said.
The winning numbers for the Nov. 27 drawing were 22, 23, 27, 36 and 41, according to the lottery. Thousands of other people won prizes ranging from $1 to $200.
The next drawing is Jan. 6, and the current jackpot is at $348,000, lottery officials said. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1-in-1,221,759.
