A poker player got lucky at a Northern California casino with one of the rarest hands in the game.

His good fortune made him $243,426 richer.

The visitor was at the Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln, the casino said in a Feb. 5 Facebook post.

He sat at a Face Up Pai Gow poker table and ended up with a seven-card straight flush, one of the rarest hands in the game.

The poker player’s winning cards were a 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and an ace in spades.

A straight flush happens when cards are in sequential order and in the same suit.

“Congratulations to you! What an amazing win! Life changing! Whoop whoop,” one person commented on Facebook.

“Wow! What a hand!” another person wrote.

Lincoln is about a 30-mile drive northeast from Sacramento.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.
