Lottery ticket worth $25 million sold at Florida gas station. Here’s where
A Florida Lottery player won a record jackpot of $25 million when he decided to buy a scratch-off ticket at a gas station.
Kyle Lindquist of Sarasota County claimed the first of two top prizes of $25 million in the 500X The Cash scratch-off game, which sells for $50 a ticket, the Florida Lottery announced April 18.
The 45-year-old bought his ticket at a Circle K convenience store at 101 U.S. Highway 41 Bypass South in Venice, lottery officials said.
He beat the odds of 1 in 21,920,355 to win the largest amount ever offered in a Florida Lottery scratch-off game, records show.
The new multimillionaire claimed his winnings as a one-time payout of $16 million at a Florida Lottery office about 60 miles south of Venice in Fort Myers.
The Circle K received $50,000 for selling the ticket, officials said.
