A woman purchasing a lottery ticket in Missouri was handed a different one than the ticket she had asked for.

“I thought it was a fake ticket at first!” she told Missouri lottery officials in a May 14 news release.

The mistake turned into a $100,000 prize for a trio of lottery players in St. Louis, officials said.

Worried the “Break the Bank” ticket was fake, the woman scanned her lottery ticket.

“When the screen showed ‘Claim your prize at a Missouri Lottery Office,’ I knew it was real!” she told officials.

The ticket was purchased for $5 at a Gas Mart.

This is the first of six top $100,000 prizes in the “Break the Bank” game to have been claimed.
