Lucky lottery player wins big jackpot in Georgia. Where was the ticket sold?
A lucky Georgia lottery player turned their ticket into a six-figure prize, results show.
Someone in Palmetto hit the Fantasy 5 jackpot, winning $176,901 after matching all five numbers in the drawing Monday, May 26, according to the Georgia Lottery’s website.
The lucky ticket was sold at a Smiths Grocery in Palmetto, a lottery spokesperson confirmed.
The winning Fantasy 5 numbers were 4-10-21-25-33, draw results show.
The lucky player beat odds of 1 in 850,668 to snag the top prize, officials said. It’s not clear if a winner had come forward as of May 27.
McClatchy News reached out to the Georgia Lottery for more information and was awaiting a response.
The big win comes less than a week after another Fantasy 5 player matched five numbers to win a $749,445 jackpot in the May 20 drawing, McClatchy News reported.
That ticket was sold at a Chevron station in Morrow, lottery officials said.
Winners in Georgia have 180 days from the draw date to claim prizes on draw games and are encouraged to sign the back of their ticket, the lottery’s website said.
Palmetto is about a 30-mile drive southwest from downtown Atlanta.
