SC Rep. Rick Quinn resigns from office ahead of corruption hearing

Indicted state Rep. Rick Quinn has resigned from the S.C. House of Representatives.

The announcement, which the Lexington Republican made in a letter to S.C. House Speaker Jay Lucas, R-Darlington, came shortly before a Wednesday court hearing in Richland County where Quinn may plead guilty to misconduct charges.

Quinn said it had been “an honor to work with all my colleagues and the dedicated staff in the House.”

“We should all be proud of our many accomplishments,” Quinn wrote in the letter to Lucas.
