Saturday march on SC State House will challenge the NRA
A march on the S.C. State House on Saturday will challenge the National Rifle Association and call for stricter gun-control laws.
The “March on the NRA” will take place at the State House from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Led by local student organizers with help from the progressive group Indivisible Midlands, the rally is a partner of similar protests planned for Saturday around the country, including a march on the NRA’s national headquarters in Fairfax, Va.
Speakers at the rally will call on federal and state lawmakers to take action to reduce gun violence and decry the influence that the NRA has on U.S. politics. The rally will conclude with a “die-in” protest, with tombstones provided by organizers on a first-come, first-serve basis.
