SC-2 challenger Boroughs reports best fundraising quarter of the 2020 cycle

Democrat Adair Ford Boroughs, who is challenging Republican Congressman Joe Wilson in November’s election had her best fundraising quarter of the cycle from April through June, bringing in more than $301,500.

Boroughs’ campaign said more than 80% of contributions were less than $100.

So far Boroughs, a former U.S. Department of Justice attorney who lives in Forest Acres, has raised $1.2 million during the cycle. She ended the quarter with $715,000 cash on hand.

“Our campaign is seeing donations from people of all walks of life; teachers, restaurant workers, nurses, students, faith leaders, people who give what they can so that everyday South Carolinians can have a voice in Congress,” Boroughs said.

Wilson’s campaign has yet to release its second quarter fundraising totals. Second quarter fundraising reports are due to the Federal Elections Commission by July 15. However, according to required FEC reports filed prior to the June primary, Boroughs had raised more money than Wilson so far during this cycle.
