‘Bless your heart.’ SC’s Mace criticizes Marjorie Taylor Greene for Nation of Islam posts
Lowcountry Congresswoman Nancy Mace and Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene are having another social media dust up.
On Monday, Mace tweeted, “*Opens twitter *sees @mtgreenee and Nation of Islam trending together*closes Twitter, smashes phone, moves to an island without internet.”
Greene then responded with a GIF of former president Donald Trump saying “Bye Bye” and wrote, “You won’t be missed.”
This battle on Twitter followed a Greene tweet thread where the firebrand Republican congresswoman said she agreed with the Nation of Islam’s opposition to COVID-19 vaccinations including for children. She said she found the Republican Party and the Nation of Islam have common ground after seeing the reading materials available during a visit to a D.C. jail.
“I also found out that the Nation of Islam sees the use and benefit of Ivermectin and is very angry that our media, Democrats, and Dr (Anthony) Fauci have attacked the drug and refuse to save people’s lives by not promoting it and shunning the use of it. We have common ground there,” she wrote.
This isn’t the first time Mace, a fellow Republican, has tangled with Greene, who is known to push conspiracy theories.
Mace, who represents South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District in the Charleston area, in May said it was appalling for Greene to compare COVID-19 vaccine passports or IDs to Jews wearing gold stars during the Holocaust.
In the latest social media battle, Mace responded to Greene’s final tweet with a familiar South Carolina retort: “Bless. Your. Heart.”
