SC’s Cunningham tweets zinger about election loss after choosing precarious parking spot
Democratic gubernatorial candidate and former Congressman Joe Cunningham’s white Toyota needs a car wash.
Cunningham tweeted a picture Tuesday of his vehicle covered in what appears to be bird excrement. But the one-term congressman, who lost to Republican Nancy Mace in a close election in 2020, took the bird mess in stride.
“I haven’t been s*** on this hard since last election,” Cunningham tweeted, along with two photos of his vehicle.
This isn’t the first time Cunningham has had a little fun while in the public eye.
In early 2019 after being sworn into to the U.S. House, Cunningham tried to bring a six pack of Lowcountry beer to another congressman. Cunningham, however, was stopped before reaching the floor.
However, in December 2020 after losing his seat, Cunningham spoke on the House floor during his farewell speech in Congress about the need for bipartisan cooperation.
“I won’t ever stop reaching across the aisle or trying to work with one another or sitting down and having a beer and listening to each other,” Cunningham said in his speech, while taking out a can of beer hidden in his suit jacket pocket and cracking it open.
