Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley stepped away from her presidential campaign for a few days as her daughter, Rena, marries Joshua Jackson at a private ceremony.

“As parents you pray your children will find that special someone to go through life with,” Haley tweeted Saturday before the wedding. “The day is here and we couldn’t be more excited for our daughter and future son.”

The location of the wedding was not disclosed.

Jackson played wide receiver on the Clemson football team; Rena Haley is a pediatric nurse.

Haley called their engagement a “Clemson love story” last year when she announced that the 2021 graduates were getting married.

Haley and her family have been planning the wedding as the former ambassador runs for the Republican nomination for president.

Jackson already has participated in the political family’s events. He appeared on stage with the Haley family during the presidential hopeful’s campaign kickoff in Charleston.
