It’s no doubt that former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and U.S. Sen. Tim Scott are similar.

From both being minorities to their stances on abortion, China and LGBTQ+ policy issues and their resentment for President Joe Biden, both Republican White House hopefuls have closely related platforms.

Haley even appointed Scott in 2012 to the U.S. Senate, calling it a “simple” choice for a man who “loves South Carolina.” Some may have even considered them friends.

Not much has changed since, except they’re now competing to occupy the Oval Office.

While Haley and Scott have their rhetorical differences, their words and phrases sometimes sound similar, especially with their campaign talking points.

But how similar? The State collected some of Haley’s and Scott’s quotes. See if you can tell the difference.
