Jimmy Kimmel’s late night show will now be back in all of South Carolina’s television markets.

Nexstar Media Group and Sinclair Broadcast Group announced Friday they would bring back “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to its ABC affiliates after pre-empting the show this week despite the Disney Company allowing the show to return to air.

Sinclair owns the ABC affiliates in the Greenville, Charleston and Florence-Myrtle Beach television markets.

Nexstar owns the ABC affiliate in the Augusta-Aiken market.

“We have had discussions with executives at The Walt Disney Company and appreciate their constructive approach to addressing our concerns,” Nexstar said in a statement. “As a local broadcaster, Nexstar remains committed to protecting the First Amendment while producing and airing local and national news that is fact-based and unbiased and, above all, broadcasting content that is in the best interest of the communities we serve.”

Kimmel was suspended by ABC after comments he made in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s assassination. ABC allowed his show to return to air Tuesday.

“Our objective throughout this process has been to ensure that programming remains accurate and engaging for the widest possible audience,” Sinclair said in a statement posted on its website. “We take seriously our responsibility as local broadcasters to provide programming that serves the interests of our communities, while also honoring our obligations to air national network programming.”
