2016 in SC: Huckabee, Santorum touring S.C. GOP conventions
Two Republicans weighing 2016 White House bids are touring the state Saturday, stopping by S.C. GOP county conventions to speak with activists.
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who sought the GOP presidential nomination in 2008, will make stops in Lexington, Berkeley and York counties, speaking to convention goers.
Former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania, who sought the 2012 GOP nomination, also will speak to the conventions in Lexington and Berkeley counties before heading to Charleston County’s S.C. GOP convention.
New York real estate mogul Donald Trump is headlining the Horry County GOP convention Saturday.
The S.C. GOP county parties are holding conventions in early April, before the May 2 statewide convention.
