Gov. Nikki Haley shared her life advice with 1,886 University of South Carolina graduates during her first college commencement address Friday.
She told business, communications, nursing, pharmacy and public health graduates to trust their instincts, push through fear and follow through on promises with action.
But Haley managed to quiet the packed Colonial Life Arena with one line mentioning her alma mater.
“(T)o the class of 2015, from this proud Clemson Tiger, I say congratulations.”

Arena filled with Gamecock grads and fans fell silent before a few polite claps came from the crowd.
“I knew you were going to boo me on that one,” Haley laughed.
