Graham supporters now backing Jeb Bush

Ten S.C. supporters of U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham now are backing former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination, the Bush campaign said Tuesday.

Top Graham supporters now backing Bush include former U.S. Ambassador to Canada David Wilkins, University of South Carolina trustee Eddie Floyd and Charleston billionaire Anita Zucker.

Graham dropped out of the presidential race Monday, the deadline to have his name removed from the ballot in South Carolina’s Feb. 20 primary.

Other new Bush supporters include John Hagins, Tee Hooper, Wes Jones, Jim Morton, former state Commerce Secretary Bob Royall, and Hal Shaw and Minor Shaw.

In the December Winthrop Poll, Bush polled fifth in South Carolina with 9 percent support among likely GOP primary voters. In the same poll, Graham had 2 percent.
